Frequently Asked Questions

How is this Merlot different from a typical New World Merlot?
Apalta's warm days and cool nights, plus old vines, give it more concentration and spice than a typical everyday Merlot while keeping the tannins soft.
What is the blend?
Predominantly Merlot with a small percentage of Cabernet Franc added for structure and lift, both sourced from the Apalta estate.
Is this wine ready to drink on release?
Yes, its short aging in mostly neutral oak makes it approachable and enjoyable within its first few years, though it can hold for several more.
