Cannonau (Grenache)

About this wine

Naracu is Vigne Surrau's fresh, open-styled Cannonau di Sardegna, sourced from roughly 20-year-old vines rooted in sandy, weathered granite soils at about 150 meters elevation in Arzachena (Gallura). Medium ruby in color, it shows tart red-fruit aromas of cranberry, red plum, orange peel, and raspberry, with graphite and brick undertones adding a stony, dusty balance. On the palate it is tangy yet rich, medium-bodied, and well-rounded with a crisp, fresh finish — a more approachable, food-friendly counterpart to the estate's flagship Sincaru.

Beginner's Note

A lighter, juicier entry point into Cannonau than the estate's flagship Sincaru — great for those new to Sardinian reds.

Sommelier's Note

"Naracu proves Cannonau doesn't need weight to have soul — it's fresh, fruit-driven, and dangerously easy to drink."

Food Pairings

Excellent with charcuterie, grilled sausages, grilled vegetables, pasta with rich tomato-based meat sauce, roasted meats, and aged cheeses.

When to drink it

Casual weeknight dinners, pasta night, gatherings with grilled food
