Bruni (also known as Cantine Bruni or Azienda Agricola Bruni) is a family-run winery in the Tuscan Maremma, in the heart of the Morellino di Scansano DOCG zone. The estate's roots trace back to 1956, when Leo Bruni and his son Paolo acquired a small plot of land in the then-marshy 'Maremma Amara' and began land reclamation; the first vines were planted in 1960, and the first hand-bottled wine, Marta Rosso, was released in 1973. The winery as it is known today was formally established in 1974, the same year twin brothers Marco and Moreno Bruni were born; the twins took over management of the estate in 1995 and have led it ever since. Today Bruni farms around 40 hectares and produces more than 320,000 bottles a year, with Morellino di Scansano DOCG as its flagship (notably the Marteto and the Laire Riserva), alongside Vermentino, and Alicante bottled as Oltreconfine. The estate follows the Magis sustainable viticulture protocol, one of Italy's most advanced precision-farming certifications, and its Oltreconfine Alicante has repeatedly earned Tre Bicchieri recognition from Gambero Rosso.
