Plum no Mai is a sweet fruit wine produced by Amasagi Wine (Iwaki Co., Ltd.) in Yurihonjo, Akita Prefecture, from 100% locally grown plums (Seiyo-sumomo). Made using the same fermentation, racking, and aging processes used for grape wine, it offers a soft, mellow sweetness balanced by gentle acidity and a fresh, fruity plum aroma, making it especially popular among casual and beginner drinkers. It was part of Amasagi Wine's plum wine lineup sold through the winery's tourist facility, Amasagi Wine Castle, before the winery suspended production in March 2022; it can still be found through select retailers such as Marugoto Yamagata's Rakuten store while stock lasts.
