Akiu Craft Valley Blend Blanc

秋保クラフトバレーブレンド ブラン

Akiu Winery

Gewürztraminer · Chardonnay

About this wine

Craft Valley Blend Blanc is Akiu Winery's white wine from its "Craft Valley" series, blending Gewürztraminer grown in the winery's own Akiu vineyard with Chardonnay sourced from contract growers in Yamagata Prefecture. Fermented at low temperatures to preserve delicate aromatics, it shows a pale, faintly green-tinged colour with aromas of pear and green plum (aoume), framed by bright citrus acidity for a fresh, easy-drinking finish. Dry, medium-bodied, 10% ABV.

Beginner's Note

An easy, aromatic white with gentle fruitiness and bright acidity — a friendly entry point into Japanese wine.

Sommelier's Note

"A textbook expression of Akiu's "own vineyard plus contract growers" philosophy — Gewürztraminer's perfume meets Chardonnay's structure for a blend that's more than the sum of its parts."

Food Pairings

Pairs well with seafood and fresh vegetable salads, sautéed shellfish, and creamy gratin dishes.

When to drink it

Great for casual lunches, seafood dinners, or relaxing after a visit to Akiu Onsen.
