Gamagori (Otsuka) is an emerging micro wine district on the coast of Mikawa Bay in Aichi Prefecture, centered on the Otsuka neighborhood of Gamagori City. Vine planting began around 2022, led by winemaker Hideo Yasui under the label HIDEO ESTATE, marking one of the first commercial vineyards in the area. The district's mild, marine-influenced climate — often compared locally to a Mediterranean coastline — and views over the bay support the cultivation of Muscat Bailey A and Chardonnay. HIDEO ESTATE released its debut vintage in March 2025 with an Otsuka Rosé (100% Muscat Bailey A) and an Otsuka Blanc (100% Chardonnay), with grapes vinified nearby in Tokoname. Though still a young and small-scale project, Gamagori (Otsuka) represents a notable addition to Aichi Prefecture's developing wine scene.
