Appellations
Anjou-Saumur
Anjou-Saumur is a diverse and historic wine region located in the heart of the Loire Valley, France, stretching along the Loire River around the cities of Angers and Saumur. The region is renowned for its geological complexity, featuring the iconic tuffeau limestone soils that give wines their distinctive mineral character. Producing an extraordinary breadth of styles — from crisp dry whites and traditional-method sparkling wines to elegant reds and world-class botrytized sweet wines — Anjou-Saumur is defined by its two great grape varieties: Chenin Blanc for whites and Cabernet Franc for reds. The geological divide between the dark Armorican Massif schist soils of Anjou Noir and the pale sedimentary tuffeau limestone soils of Anjou Blanc further adds to the region's diversity, encompassing over two dozen appellations.

Central Vineyards
The Central Vineyards, or Centre-Loire, represent the easternmost and most inland section of the Loire Valley wine region. Situated in the heart of France, this area is world-renowned for its exceptional Sauvignon Blanc, particularly from the iconic appellations of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé. The climate is semi-continental, characterized by cold winters and warm summers, which, combined with diverse soil types like Kimmeridgian marl and flint (silex), imparts a distinct mineral tension and elegance to the wines. While white wines dominate production, the region also crafts refined Pinot Noir and delicate Rosé, making it a premier destination for lovers of terroir-driven, crisp, and aromatic wines.

Domaine Didier Dagueneau
Domaine Didier Dagueneau is Pouilly-Fumé's most celebrated estate, founded in 1982 by the visionary and iconoclastic winemaker Didier Dagueneau. Driven by an obsessive quest to make 'the world's best Sauvignon Blanc,' he pioneered biodynamic viticulture, ultra-low yields, horse-plowed parcels, and Burgundy-inspired barrel fermentation at a time when none of this was practiced in the Loire. After his death in a 2008 ultralight plane crash, his children, Louis-Benjamin and Charlotte Dagueneau, took over the domaine and have faithfully upheld his uncompromising standards. Single-vineyard cuvées such as Silex, Pur Sang, Buisson Renard, and the ungrafted-vine Astéroïde remain the benchmark for the appellation, prized for their precision, mineral intensity, and remarkable ageing potential.
