Tiberini

ティベリーニ

Seven-generation organic estate farming 22ha above Montepulciano.

Tiberini is a seven-generation family winery in the Le Caggiole locality on the northern edge of Montepulciano, Tuscany, where the family has cultivated vines since 1918. Originally tenant farmers on the Gamberucci estate, the Tiberini family bought back the land they had worked for generations in 1962. Today the estate — also known as Podere Le Caggiole — spans about 22 hectares (roughly 16.5 hectares of vineyard and 2 hectares of olive groves) at an average altitude of 310 meters between the Val di Chiana and Val d'Orcia. Farming is fully organic: no chemical products are used across the vineyards, olive groves, or cellar, relying instead on natural fertilizers, soil improvers, and traditional treatments such as copper and sulfur, applied with the goal of gradually reducing even those over time. Grapes are hand-harvested with careful bunch selection. The estate produces Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG, Riserva and single-vineyard bottlings, and Rosso di Montepulciano DOC, built on Prugnolo Gentile (the local Sangiovese clone) blended with small portions of Canaiolo Nero and Mammolo.
