Tenuta TerraVita

テヌータ・テラヴィータ

Biodynamic, amphora-aged natural wines from Suvereto's coastal hills.

Tenuta TerraVita is a small biodynamic estate in Suvereto, in Tuscany's Val di Cornia, founded by the couple Carlo Andrea and Chiara Gatti after they were captivated by the beauty of the coastal Maremma landscape. Their project began in 2012-2013 when the Reichenberg family entrusted them with a two-hectare vineyard planted in the 1980s in the Notri locality of Suvereto; the estate later grew to include the Gregana and Palazzotto sites. TerraVita farms biodynamically, ferments with indigenous yeasts, and bottles its wines unfiltered and unfined. The vineyards mix Sangiovese and the rare native Pugnitello with French varieties (Grenache, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc), alongside Trebbiano, Procanico and a touch of white Malvasia used for a skin-macerated white aged in terracotta amphorae. Reflecting this natural, low-intervention approach, the wines (including the red 'TerraVita' and 'Aimat', the rosé 'Aurora', and the amphora white 'Bastian') are released as Toscana IGT rather than under stricter denomination rules. TerraVita is a member of the Consorzio di Tutela Suvereto e Val di Cornia Wine, and the estate also offers boutique apartments and wine tastings for visitors.
