Tenuta Meraviglia

テヌータ・メラヴィリア

Single-minded Cabernet Franc from Bolgheri's rare volcanic hillside soils.

Tenuta Meraviglia is a hillside estate in Bolgheri, Tuscany, established in 2016 when Argentine-Italian entrepreneur Alejandro Bulgheroni's ABFV (Alejandro Bulgheroni Family Vineyards) group acquired the historic property "Tenute Le Colonne" and split it into two sister estates: Tenuta Le Colonne along the coast and Tenuta Meraviglia on the hillsides at roughly 150 metres above sea level. The estate is devoted almost exclusively to Cabernet Franc (with a small planting of Vermentino), grown on rare volcanic soils rich in rhyolite known locally as "Vulcanite di San Vincenzo," alongside silty-clayey marine soils. All 95 hectares shared with Tenuta Le Colonne have been certified organic since 2019, and viticulture and winemaking are overseen by consultants Alberto Antonini and soil specialist Pedro Parra. Since September 2025 both estates are vinified together at Cantina Meraviglia, a striking new winery built inside a former stone quarry (Cava di Cariola) designed by Studio Tori, combining gravity-fed, parcel-by-parcel production with strong environmental and social sustainability commitments. The flagship Maestro di Cava Bolgheri Superiore has scored 97 points and won Best in Show honors at the Decanter World Wine Awards.
