Tenuta Di Vaira is a family-run estate at the foot of the Rocca di Castiglioncello along the Via Bolgherese, in the heart of the Bolgheri DOC on Tuscany's coast. The Di Vaira family has farmed here since the early 1950s, and in 2021 inaugurated a new, modern winery marking a new chapter for the estate, now guided by three generations of the family (Vincenzo and Emanuela, and their daughter Romina with her husband Alessandro). Across roughly 50 hectares of land, with about 12-14 hectares under vine, they grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah for structured reds, plus Vermentino, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier for fresh whites, producing both classic Bolgheri Rosso/Bianco DOC blends and single-varietal wines alongside extra virgin olive oil and barrel-aged grappa. The winery's approach balances tradition with innovation - for example using a digital refractometer to time harvest - while staying rooted in respect for the territory. The estate's 'Bolgherese' Bolgheri Superiore was recognized with the top '4 Vines' rating in the Vitae La Guida Vini 2024 guide.
