Richiari Porciglia is a family-run estate on the east side of the Greve River at the base of the Ruffoli hill, in the heart of Chianti Classico, Greve in Chianti. The estate's origins trace to 1980, and it was formally founded on 2 May 1985 by Emilio Tatini and his wife Lidia Martinelli, with the first commercially bottled wines released in 2009. Today the second generation, brothers Leonardo and Alessandro, runs the vineyards, winemaking and cellar, while Leonardo's wife Martina manages the business side; their son Federico, currently studying oenology at the University of Florence, represents the emerging third generation. The estate focuses on traditional, hand-harvested, low-intervention production of Chianti Classico DOCG, including a single-vineyard cru, Il Taccio, sourced from vines around 40 years old growing on Alberese and Pietraforte soils.
