Poggerino
ポッジェリーノ
Elegant, terroir-driven organic Chianti Classico from Radda.
Fattoria Poggerino is a small, family-run estate in Radda in Chianti, owned and farmed by siblings Piero and Benedetta Lanza since 1988 (officially taking over in 1999). All vineyards have been certified organic since 2012, with Piero also following biodynamic principles — no pesticides or herbicides, and only small amounts of mined sulphur and copper. The estate's roughly 11.7 hectares of vines, planted mainly to Sangiovese with a small amount of Merlot, sit at 400-500 meters above sea level on south/southwest-facing galestro slopes. Fermentation relies on indigenous yeasts and wines are aged in large, neutral oak casks (botti), yielding Chianti Classico known for vibrant acidity, refined tannins, and notable aging potential.
