Podere dei Musi is a small, family-run estate in Donoratico, in the heart of the Bolgheri DOC zone on Tuscany's coast. Federico Di Vaira's family arrived from Molise in the 1950s to farm the land; his father Zenone planted the family's roughly 3-hectare DOC Bolgheri vineyard in 2000 and bottled the first vintage in 2006. Federico took over the estate in 2012 and has since built a new winery and launched Caravèra, a Bolgheri Superiore that debuted with the 2017 vintage. The estate is a member of the Consorzio Tutela dei Vini DOC Bolgheri e DOC Bolgheri Sassicaia, and produces wine and olive oil using artisanal methods that favor the natural expression of the grapes over rigid technique. Visitors can taste and buy directly at the estate's Farm Shop in Donoratico.
