Podere Casanova

ポデーレ・カサノーヴァ

Organic, Equalitas-certified Vino Nobile from Tre Berte.

Podere Casanova is a boutique estate in the Tre Berte area near Montepulciano, Tuscany, revived since 2016 by Isidoro Rebatto and Susanna Ponzin — entrepreneurs whose earlier career restoring decommissioned hydroelectric plants shaped a winemaking philosophy built on environmental stewardship. Its roughly 16–17 hectares of vineyards, farmed organically since 2021 and Equalitas-certified since 2023, produce a range anchored by Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG (including the single-cru Settecento and an aged Riserva), Rosso di Montepulciano, the Super Tuscans Irripetibile and Leggenda, and white and sparkling wines. The estate also runs a panoramic tasting room, agritourism accommodations, and a Wine Art Shop in the historic center of Montepulciano.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Podere Casanova best known for?
Its Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG, made primarily from Prugnolo Gentile (a local Sangiovese clone), including the single-cru Settecento and an aged Riserva bottling.
Is Podere Casanova an organic winery?
Yes. The estate began converting to organic farming in 2021 and earned Equalitas sustainability certification in 2023; in the difficult 2023 vintage it chose not to bottle wine rather than increase copper use.
Who owns Podere Casanova?
Isidoro Rebatto and his wife Susanna Ponzin, entrepreneurs who previously worked restoring decommissioned hydroelectric plants, took over the estate in 2016 and rebuilt it around sustainable practices.
Can visitors taste wine at Podere Casanova?
Yes. The estate welcomes guests to its panoramic tasting room in the Tre Berte vineyards and also operates a Wine Art Shop in the historic center of Montepulciano.
What other wines does Podere Casanova produce besides Vino Nobile?
The range includes Rosso di Montepulciano, the Super Tuscan blends Irripetibile and Leggenda, the white Euforia, and sparkling and passito wines.
