Nada Giuseppe
ナダ・ジュゼッペ
Authentic, organic Barbaresco from the Nada family's historic Casot cru in Treiso.
Nada Giuseppe is a small, family-run estate in Treiso, the highest-elevation village of the Barbaresco appellation. The Nada family has farmed the historic Casot cru since 1900, when ancestor Antonio Nada moved from Trezzo Tinella and purchased the parcel; the family began bottling its own wine in 1964, two years before Barbaresco was granted DOCG status. Today the estate is run by Giuseppe and Nella Nada, who tend the roughly 9-hectare vineyard themselves, their daughter Barbara who manages the office, and their son Enrico, the estate's enologist, who has overseen the cellar since converting the vineyards to organic farming in 2014 (certified organic from the 2017 vintage). Winemaking is traditional: spontaneous fermentation, macerations of six to eight weeks, and aging in a combination of used tonneaux/botti followed by large Slavonian and French oak casks. Note: this Nada Giuseppe estate is a distinct, independently owned company from other Treiso-based wineries bearing the Nada surname (such as Fiorenzo Nada / nada.it), which is a separate branch of the same extended family with its own vineyards, winemaking team, and label.

Who Is This For?
Ideal for collectors of traditional, terroir-driven Barbaresco who value small-scale, organic family estates and old-vine Nebbiolo (some vines from 1960) over modern, oak-forward styles.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Where is Nada Giuseppe located, and is it the same company as other Nada wineries?
- Nada Giuseppe is a family estate in Treiso, the highest village of the Barbaresco appellation. Despite sharing the Nada surname with other Treiso producers (such as Fiorenzo Nada), it is an independently owned and operated winery with its own vineyards, cellar, and label.
- What is Nada Giuseppe's winemaking philosophy?
- The estate favors minimal intervention: spontaneous fermentation, long macerations of six to eight weeks, and aging in used tonneaux and botti followed by large Slavonian and French oak casks, aiming for balance and elegance over power.
- Is Nada Giuseppe organic?
- Yes. The family converted its vineyards to organic farming in 2014 and has been certified organic since the 2017 vintage.
- What is the flagship wine of Nada Giuseppe?
- Their flagship is Barbaresco Casot DOCG, from a southwest-facing cru on the steep slopes of Treiso, made largely from old-vine Nebbiolo planted around 1960. They also produce Dolcetto d'Alba and Barbera d'Alba.
- Does Nada Giuseppe's Barbaresco pair well with Japanese cuisine?
- Yes — its firm but fine tannins and bright acidity pair very well with grilled wagyu, duck, and soy-simmered meat dishes such as gyunabe or sukiyaki.
