Luigi Oddero e Figli is a Barolo producer based in La Morra, founded in 2006 when the family estate was divided between brothers Luigi and Giacomo Oddero. Note: this is a distinct legal entity from "Oddero" (Poderi e Cantine Oddero), which remained with the other branch of the family; the two producers, though descended from the same historical Oddero lineage, are run entirely independently and should not be confused. Following Luigi Oddero's death in 2009/2010, the estate has been run by his wife Lena and their children Maria and Giovanni. The estate holds roughly 32 hectares of vineyards spread across La Morra, Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d'Alba for Barolo, plus holdings in the Rombone cru of Treiso for Barbaresco. Winemaking follows the traditionalist Langhe style: long macerations and aging in large Slavonian oak botti rather than small French barriques, preserving the purity and structure of Nebbiolo.
