Le Bèrne is a family-run estate in the Cervognano pieve, one of the historic crus east of Montepulciano, founded by Egisto Natalini in the 1960s and now led by the third generation, Andrea and Laura Natalini. The property spans roughly 18.5 hectares, of which about 13 are under vine across five plots within Cervognano, worked without herbicides or pesticides on calcareous and clay soils at up to 350m elevation. The estate's guiding principle is that 'wine is made in the vineyard, not the cellar' — fruit is fermented with native yeasts and aged in a mix of large Slavonian oak botti and smaller French oak barriques, yielding Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Rosso di Montepulciano that are structured, elegant and unmistakably tied to the Cervognano terroir. Alongside wine, the estate also produces extra virgin olive oil.
