La Magia

ラ・マージャ

Harmonious Brunello balancing power, elegance, and mineral purity.

Located in the Castelnuovo dell'Abate area of Montalcino, La Magia has been run by the Schwarz family since 1979. The estate's centerpiece is a single 15-hectare block of 40-year-old Sangiovese vines at 400-450 meters altitude, planted on an ancient Roman road dating to Etruscan times. Fabian Schwarz, who studied at the San Michele all'Adige oenological institute and took over winemaking from his father Harald in 2011, favors organic viticulture, long macerations of around 45 days with a high proportion of whole berries, and aging in 500-liter French oak tonneaux. The resulting Brunello di Montalcino balances power and structure with refined elegance and pronounced minerality from the estate's galestro soils.
