Fratelli Seghesio
フラテッリ・セゲジオ
Authentic, family-run Barolo estate in Monforte d'Alba.
Located in the heart of Monforte d'Alba, Fratelli Seghesio is a historic, family-run estate dedicated to expressing the unique terroir of the Langhe. Since Ettore Seghesio purchased the farm in 1964 and planted Nebbiolo, the family — and later sons Aldo and Riccardo, who began estate-bottling in 1988 — has crafted authentic Barolo from prestigious sites in the Castelletto cru, including the classic Barolo Castelletto and the more powerful Barolo Castelletto La Villa. Their winemaking philosophy balances traditional methods, such as spontaneous fermentation and aging in large Slavonian oak barrels, with modern precision, producing elegant, structured, and age-worthy Nebbiolo. Fratelli Seghesio is a wholly separate winery from Seghesio Family Vineyards, the well-known Zinfandel producer in Sonoma County, California.

- What is the signature style of their Barolo?
- Their Barolo is characterized by a classic, elegant profile with refined tannins, sourced from the Castelletto cru and often aged in large Slavonian oak barrels to highlight the purity of the Nebbiolo grape.
- What are the estate's flagship wines?

- Yes, their structured and complex Barolo is an excellent match for rich Piedmontese dishes, including braised red meats, game, and aged cheeses.
