Fattoria Casa di Terra
ファットリア・カーサ・ディ・テッラ
Family-run Bolgheri estate blending tradition with modern, sustainable winemaking.
Fattoria Casa di Terra is a family-run estate in the heart of the Bolgheri amphitheater, in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci. The Frollani family settled the land in 1950 after moving from the Marche region, initially farming vegetables, olives, and cereals. In the 1990s, siblings Gessica and Giuliano Frollani redirected the estate toward quality viticulture, and a new eco-sustainable winery was completed in 2013. The estate now spans roughly 120 hectares, with about 45-60 hectares under vine across the prestigious Bolgheri sub-zones of Via Bolgherese, Ferruggini, Sondraie, and Guado de'Gemoli. In 2019 the family added the adjacent Podere Roseto vineyard, whose rows are each marked by a rose bush at the end - the source of its name. Fattoria Casa di Terra grows mainly French varieties typical of Bolgheri - Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Syrah, and Rebo - alongside Vermentino, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay for whites. Its best-known labels include the Bolgheri DOC Moreccio, Mosaico, and the Bolgheri Superiore Maronea, a Cabernet Sauvignon-Cabernet Franc blend, plus a 100% Cabernet Franc Bolgheri Superiore from Podere Roseto. The estate is a registered member of the Consorzio di Tutela della DOC Bolgheri and welcomes visitors for cellar tours and tastings.
