Duemani
ドゥエマーニ
Biodynamic Tuscan coast pioneer, north of Bolgheri, famed for pure Syrah
Founded in 2000 by oenologist Luca D'Attoma and Elena Celli in the small comune of Riparbella, in the hills between Castellina Marittima and the Tyrrhenian coast (province of Pisa), Duemani lies roughly 8 km north of Bolgheri, outside the Bolgheri DOC boundary. The estate farms about 12-14 hectares biodynamically (Demeter-certified since 2004), one of the earliest biodynamic pioneers in Tuscany, planted mainly to Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Merlot and Grenache at 220-300m elevation on stony, high-limestone soils. Wines are bottled under the Toscana IGT / Costa Toscana IGT designation rather than Bolgheri DOC. The flagship Suisassi, a pure Syrah, and the estate's namesake Cabernet Franc blend Duemani have earned international critical acclaim for purity, minerality and ageability. In May 2023 the estate was acquired by the Tenute del Leone Alato group, with Luca D'Attoma continuing as consulting winemaker.
