Rooted in Dambach-la-Ville since 1688, Domaine Ruhlmann-Schutz is one of the leading family estates on the Alsace wine route, prized above all for its holdings in the granite-soil Alsace Grand Cru Frankstein. Officially formed in 1994 when André Ruhlmann and Christine Schutz united their families' vineyards, the estate is now guided by four cousins of the third generation — Antoine and Thomas Schutz, Jacques-Emile and Louise-Anne Ruhlmann — who continue founder André's philosophy that 'wine is the perfect reflection of the temperament of its maker.' Farming 53 hectares in Alsace (plus a Corbières venture, Château Valmont) under HVE Level 3 certification and progressive organic conversion, the estate places granite dolmens and menhirs among its Frankstein and Muenchberg plots as a nod to the terroir's ancient character. Its range spans classic Alsace varietals — Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, Muscat — through to acclaimed late-harvest wines; the 2021 and 2023 Gewürztraminer Vendanges Tardives were each crowned Best White Wine in the World at the Mondial des Vins Blancs.
