Domaine Muré is a family estate in Rouffach, Alsace, whose winegrowing roots trace back to 1648-1650. Now in its 12th generation under siblings Véronique and Thomas Muré, the domaine farms 28 hectares, including its historic monopole Clos Saint-Landelin — a 12-hectare walled vineyard within the Vorbourg Grand Cru site whose vines have been cultivated since the 8th century, once belonging to the Bishop of Strasbourg and later the monks of Saint-Landelin abbey. Alfred Muré acquired and replanted the clos in 1935. The estate converted to organic farming (Ecocert) before achieving full Demeter biodynamic certification in 2013, practicing tight vine spacing, ploughing with horses, indigenous-yeast fermentation, and attention to lunar and cosmic cycles. Clos Saint-Landelin's steep, clay-limestone slopes are planted to six varieties — Riesling on the lower slopes, Gewurztraminer and Muscat at the center, Sylvaner in the southeast, Pinot Gris in the southwest, and Pinot Noir at the top — producing wines prized for their precision, minerality, and structure.
