Domaine des Marnes Blanches
ドメーヌ・デ・マルヌ・ブランシュ
Purity and precision from the white marl soils of Jura.
Founded in 2006 by Pauline and Géraud Fromont, two young Jurassian oenology graduates from farming backgrounds, Domaine des Marnes Blanches farms 10-12 hectares of vines — some nearly a century old — across the communes of Cesancey, Vincelles, and Sainte-Agnès in the southern Côtes du Jura AOC. Certified organic by Ecocert since 2013, the estate is defined by minimal intervention: hand-harvesting, wild-yeast fermentation, and ageing in neutral oak, concrete egg, or amphora with little to no added sulphur. The domaine takes its name from the white marl (marnes blanches) soils of its original Cesancey vineyards. Its ouillé (topped-up) white wines are bottled under the name 'Reflet' and its oxidative, sous-voile whites under 'Empreinte', distinguishing wines that reflect pure terroir from those shaped by winemaking style. The range spans precise Chardonnays and Savagnins, vin jaune, Crémant du Jura, and lithe reds from Trousseau, Poulsard, and Pinot Noir, and the Fromonts are widely regarded as leading figures of the new generation of natural Jura winemakers.
