Domaine de Boischampt

ドメーヌ・ド・ボワシャン

A 1642-founded Jullié estate reborn under organic farming, crafting pure, terroir-driven Juliénas from granite slopes with natural yeasts and minimal sulphur.

Domaine de Boischampt is a historic estate in the village of Jullié, in the heart of the Beaujolais crus, whose buildings date back to the seventeenth century (the domaine was created in 1642). Its 13 hectares of vines are ideally situated on the granite slopes around Jullié, producing Cru Beaujolais wines from Juliénas — its flagship appellation — as well as Fleurie and Saint-Amour. Acquired in 2018 by the Australian-Japanese couple Bob and Yuko Harris, with director Antoine Romero and winemaker Thibaud Baudin, the estate has converted to certified organic farming and vinifies with natural yeasts, keeping intervention and sulphur use to a minimum. The result is pure, elegant Gamay that faithfully expresses the granite terroir of the region. In Japan, its wines are imported by the organic wine specialist Mavie.
