Château Tournefeuille

シャトー・トゥルヌフイユ

Premier Lalande-de-Pomerol estate sharing blue-clay terroir with Pétrus, guided by legendary oenologist Jean-Claude Berrouet.

Located on the prestigious Néac plateau in the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation, Château Tournefeuille is one of the leading estates of the Right Bank. The vineyard was first recorded on the 1785 Beyleme map and has been owned since 1998 by the Petit and Cambier families. Day-to-day management is handled by Emeric Petit, son of co-founder François Petit, who in the estate's early years was assisted by legendary Pétrus oenologist Jean-Claude Berrouet and consultant Catherine Cohen. Spanning 18 hectares of clay-gravel soils that share the same blue-clay terroir as Pétrus, the estate grows Merlot and Cabernet Franc with vines averaging over 30 years of age. The estate is transitioning to biodynamic farming — 50% biodynamic conversion and 50% sustainable (raisonnée) agriculture — with no chemical herbicides or insecticides and manual harvesting. Wines are aged 12–14 months in French oak. The estate produces three wines: the grand vin Château Tournefeuille, single-parcel cuvée La Cure, and second label Rosalcy (55% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Franc from adjacent vines).
