Cave de Hunawihr
カーヴ・ド・ユナヴィール
Alsace's leading cooperative, steward of the Rosacker Grand Cru.
Founded in 1954 by the winegrowers of Hunawihr, this cooperative cellar is ranked as the leading cooperative winery in Alsace and among the top three in France. Around 110 grower-members cultivate some 200 hectares on the limestone soils of Hunawihr, Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr, including roughly 11 of the 26 hectares of the prestigious Rosacker Grand Cru. Harvest is largely manual — 100% for Grands Crus and Lieux-dits — with whole-cluster reception to preserve delicate aromas, gentle pressing, thermo-regulated stainless-steel fermentation and 4 to 6 months of lees aging. The result is a range of pure, terroir-driven wines from generic bottlings to Grands Crus, Lieux-dits, sparkling and late-harvest styles, praised by critics for precision and mineral intensity, especially the flagship Riesling Grand Cru Rosacker.
