Cascina Carrà

カッシーナ・カッラ

Family-run San Sebastiano estate crafting honest Langhe wines since 1986.

Founded in 1986 in the San Sebastiano district of Monforte d'Alba, Cascina Carrà is a small family-run estate led by Italo Anselma and his wife Marisa. The winery farms roughly 14 hectares of vineyards and, while not certified biodynamic, follows a low-intervention approach rooted in respect for the land. Two lines are produced — Classica and Argento — spanning Dolcetto d'Alba, Dogliani DOCG Bricco Lago, Barbera d'Alba Carlot, Barbera d'Alba Superiore Raviola, Nebbiolo d'Alba Runsué, Nebbiolo d'Alba Superiore Tita, Langhe Chardonnay Colibrì, and Langhe Rosato Rosa Thea, aged using a mix of large Slavonian oak casks, barriques, and stainless steel to let the Langhe terroir speak clearly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Cascina Carrà produce Barolo?
Cascina Carrà is based in Monforte d'Alba, one of the classic Barolo communes, but its current lineup does not include a Barolo bottling — the estate instead channels its Nebbiolo into Nebbiolo d'Alba Runsué and the riper Superiore Tita.
Is the winery certified organic or biodynamic?
The estate has no formal biodynamic certification, but it applies natural, low-intervention farming out of respect for the land.
What are Cascina Carrà's wine lines?
The estate bottles two ranges — Classica and Argento — covering Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba (Carlot and the riper Raviola), Nebbiolo d'Alba (Runsué and Tita), the Dogliani DOCG Bricco Lago, and the Langhe whites Chardonnay Colibrì and Rosato Rosa Thea.
