Cantina Campotondo
カンティーナ・カンポトンド
Tiny 2.5ha Orcia estate, alberello-trained, 4-viti awarded.
Founded in 2000 by Paolo Salviucci in Campiglia d'Orcia, a hamlet of Castiglione d'Orcia between the Val d'Orcia and Monte Amiata, Cantina Campotondo is a small family-run estate now led by his daughter Elena Salviucci. Farming just 2.5 hectares with the traditional alberello (bush vine) training system, the winery focuses on Sangiovese and Colorino alongside small plots of Merlot and Chardonnay, producing around 11,000 bottles a year within the Orcia DOC. Their flagship red, Il Tocco Riserva 2017, earned the top '4 viti' rating in the AIS Vitae Guide 2022, confirming the estate's quality despite its tiny scale. The philosophy centers on craftsmanship, sustainability, and letting the terroir of Val d'Orcia speak through the wines.
