Palazzo Altesi

パラッツォ・アルテジ

Altesino

Sangiovese

About this wine

A 100% Sangiovese Toscana IGT made using partial carbonic maceration, giving Palazzo Altesi a softer, more perfumed expression of the variety than Altesino's DOCG bottlings. Named after the estate's 14th-century palazzo, it shows delicate aromas of violet, wild berries and smoke, aged around a year in French oak.

Beginner's Note

A gentle, aromatic Sangiovese that's easy to love even without prior Brunello experience.

Sommelier's Note

"Proof that Sangiovese doesn't have to be austere — Palazzo Altesi's carbonic maceration unlocks a perfumed, almost playful side of the grape."

Food Pairings

Its soft tannins and perfumed fruit make it a natural match for grilled poultry, charcuterie boards, and lighter tomato-based dishes.

When to drink it

Terroir & Winemaking

Made with partial carbonic maceration — a technique more common in Beaujolais — to preserve fresh fruit character and soften tannins, followed by about a year in French oak barriques and roughly three months in bottle.
